Curtains in far away places....
Todays install was a real exercise in the art of curtains. Our client who is absolutely in love with linen curtains commissioned us to make curtains for his remarkable island home. The brief was simple
..make HUGE sheer curtains in our most private sheer, automate them and make them work on his phone so he can open and close them remotely. We used @somfyus
Zigbee protocol to make this happen...
Also make them now but you won`t be able to install them for 4 months.... last part was quiet. So the curtains sat in a bag for 4 months until today when we unpacked them. If anyone ever tells you that linen is wrinkly and sags and stretches just show them this...
We hung the tracks and pulled the curtains out the bags and hung them...misted them with a little water and Bonita is your abuela...
Its a wonderful thing being able to measure a space...manufacture a textile...manufacture the curtains and the hardware in house and install it all perfectly. Makes one feel very good about oneself.

I`ve been saying this since I was a child... making motorized curtains are completely different than making regular curtains. Not only do you have to fabricate them differently but you really do have to understand the intricacies of what you are attempting to do. So many things to consider...fullness, stacks, system, overlaps, returns...etc.
For this great install we enlisted the help of @bourneelectric and used @somfyus Glydea tracks using a zigbee protocol which is our new go to standard for standalone systems...perfect for integrating into a multitude of control systems. Not only did we design the beautiful sheer fabric, we also fabricated the curtains track systems and installed it all...programming it to work at the touch of a button. This was all quarterbacked under the discerning eye of @cathyradcliffe with whom we are lucky to have worked alongside with for years.

I don`t even remember where this was...sometime back in 2016 probably. We made these beautiful shoji screens...from linen of course... to diffuse the view beyond and adding the steel eyelets gives the eyes a place to focus, tricking them into staying in the room...and what a great backdrop to the @bocci lights...
