Why Is my Linen Bedding so Comfortable?
Linen is hygroscopic and thermoregulating. It absorbs moisture and traps it in its fibres. The better the linen the better it’s going to feel. All linen is not created equal but you can purchase linen bedding at every price point and gain the benefits of sleeping in it. Our linen bedding is made from exceptionally high quality fabric, so it’s properties and comfort level are that much better. Also linen in general has one fifth the amount of pesticide and chemical as cotton does, many of our options have NONE! That means people who are sensitive to chemicals or who want to live a healthier life will benefit greatly from using our ECO linen sheeting. So it’s not just comfy, it’s healthy! And let’s not forget long lasting… Linen is much stronger and more resilient than cotton, and unlike cotton feels much better over time.
How can I be sure I am getting Belgian Linen?
Ask for a seal of authenticity, really. Cloth Studio is officially recognized by the Belgian Linen Association, and we have the documentation to prove it. Belgium stands behind it’s products and certifies its authenticity. Insist on REAL Belgian Linen. You can rest assured knowing an entire country stands behind this product.
Where does your linen come from?
Our linen is made in Belgium from Belgian grown flax. Like it’s beer, horses, diamonds and chocolates, Belgium has extremely stringent standards, even Irish linen is made from Belgian Flax! Belgium has been producing linen for hundreds of years and their mills have the expertise to work with this amazing fibre better than any other country in the world.
Do linen curtains stretch?
Generally linen curtains stretch for two reasons: one, low quality linen and two, poor fabrication. When you use a fantastic quality linen it will be more stable, wrinkle less and hold it’s shape. When you combine that with professional tailoring specific to high quality linen fabric then there will be minimal stretching. Buy good fabric, have it sewn professionally, that’s the answer.
Doesn’t linen wrinkle and how do I get the wrinkles out?
Yes it does, we all do…It’s not a bad thing. The unique properties of the flax fibre are what give linen it’s beautiful hand and it’s wrinkles. Wrinkles can be ironed or steamed out, or even just a light misting and smoothing with your hands is enough to get most wrinkles to relax. Those properties are the same ones that help linen hang so well.
