Easy to Wear, Easy to Care
Linen’s unique properties make it an easy fabric to care for. Despite its high value it is a simple fabric which when cared for will last generations.
Washing Linen
We recommend machine washing linen in lukewarm water using a soap based cleaner, like Linen Wash, which we carry and are happy to show you how to use. We recommend medium sized loads with an extra rinse cycle.
Drying Linen
You can dry your linens in the dryer using a medium setting and being careful not to overdry them. Linen dries relatively quickly so you want to use a shorter drying time.
Dressing your Linens
Lightly misting your linen with a dilute mixture of Linen Water and plain water while folding them or dressing your bed gives them a nice scent and keeps them fresh longer.
Stains
Like with any fabric, stains are a challenge. It is best to treat stains immediately, diluting some soap and soaking the stain before throwing it into the wash. While some stains will never come out the majority of stains should clean out to a satisfactory level. It is best NOT to use bleach or harsh detergents as it weakens the linen.
Pressing Linen
Linen can be pressed at the hottest temperature without fear of burning. We recommend misting the linen with a dilute mixture of Linen Water and plain water to help relax the wrinkles and keep your linens smelling fresh.
It is best to experiment with your own laundry machines to see how they best perform, but do not hesitate to call us regarding caring for your linens, we are happy to help you!
