I feel really lucky, I get to do some really cool stuff in a lot of really cool places with and for a bunch of cool people…. When I really think about why it is what I do, and why I spend so much time honing my craft and my skill I think that a large part of it is because I have no reason to not love my job!
Some years ago Anna and I had the pleasure of making some amazing curtains for a penthouse in West Vancouver….

There was a lot of linen in this space, curtains, shades, sheers and the most magnificent treatment of all was the stairwell feature. An impressive conceptual arrangement of linen banners that both created privacy and interest as well as light diffusion.

Below you can see the amazing stair well during construction. Although architecturally interesting the view is plagued by a hideous looking building to the East (apologies if you live in said building… I am sure the inside is nice, but let’s face it, the exterior is absolutely hideous). Our client was very sensitive to this and asked me to design something that was both architectonic, and private without feeling closed in. The incredible height of this space ( 24 feet in vertical height) needed to remain relevant and in fact was a big consideration to the design of this feature treatment.
